Fructose-6-phosphate (F6P) is a key intermediate in the glycolytic pathway that leads from glucose to pyruvate. F6P is produced from glucose-6-phosphate and is phosphorylated to fructose-1,6-diphosphate which is then cleaved to dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde phosphate. The transformation of glucose-6-phosphate is regulated by phosphoglucose isomerase, a very interesting enzyme which acts as an isomerase, an autocrine motility factor, a neuroleukin, and a differentiation and maturation mediator.
The Fructose-6-Phosphate Fluorometric Assay Kit provides a highly sensitive, simple, fast and convenient way for detection of F6P levels in various samples based on fluorometric method. In the assay, F6P is converted to glucose-6-phosphate which is then oxidized with the production of a fluorescent product (Ex/Em 535/587 nm). The kit can detect 0.01 to 0.5 nmoles F6P with detection sensitivity of ~1 µM.
