G6PDH (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) is a cytosolic enzyme and its main function is to produce NADPH which in turn protects the cell from oxidative damage. The Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Activity Colorimetric Assay Kit offers a fast and sensitive method for detecting the G6pDH activity in various samples. Glucose-6-phosphate is oxidized and generates a product that converts a nearly colorless probe to an intensely colored product with an absorbance at 450 nm. The detection limit of G6PDH Assay Kit is 0.04 mU G6PDH per well.
